On Wednesday 26th June, 2024, 4.00-7.00 P.M. International Office, Language Institute Chiang Mai University has held a cultural activity of Republic of India – “BOLLYWOOD APPRECIATION NIGHT AT LICMU”. Assistant Professor Sakorn Ruanklai, Acting Director of Language Institute Chiang Mai University delivered the aims and details of the activity, as well as welcomed an honourable guest – Mr. Ramji Ramaswamy, Vice Consulate of India, Chiang Mai (Thailand) to give the opening speech. The event is also moderated by Dr. Roshinee Oupra (Head of International Relations and Public Relations, Royal Thai College of Nursing, Chiang Mai).
This event had been organised with the aims of cementing relationship between the Language Institute Chiang Mai University and Consulate of India, giving participants the chance to be part of Indian cultural dissemination, and giving local students inspiration for participating in study and cultural exchange programs in India. In this occasion, all of the participants had the chance to play games and won prizes, had Indian-style dinner and beverages, received popcorn packs and watched 2 Indian short films; Pralhad and Toxic Parents. After finish watching both films, the moderator generated discussion and gave reflection about sociocultural aspects from the films. The president and some participants had also made analysis as well as exchanged feelings and experiences according to the films. Lastly, the moderator summarised and made an appreciation speech. Additionally, the president and participants had group photographs together at the end of the activity. The activity has attracted attention from many participants to register and attend the venue and got favourable feedback.
